1.What is Chemed's main business?
 

Chemed operates in the healthcare field through its VITAS Healthcare Corporation subsidiary. VITAS (www.vitas.com) is the nation's largest provider of end-of-life hospice care services. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, VITAS serves patients through hospice programs in major metropolitan markets in 12 states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Chemed is also a leading provider of repair and maintenance services to the residential and commercial markets through its Roto-Rooter subsidiary. With more than 110 company-owned branches and independent contractors and approximately 500 franchisees, Roto-Rooter (www.rotorooter.com) is North America's largest provider of plumbing and drain cleaning services.

2.Has Chemed operated under any other names?
 

Founded in 1970 and publicly traded since 1971, Chemed Corporation was known as Roto-Rooter, Inc., from May 19, 2003, until May 17, 2004, reflecting the name of its then-largest operation.


3.I have Roto-Rooter, Inc., stock certificates. Do I need to turn them in for new Chemed Corporation certificates?
 

No. It is not necessary to exchange Roto-Rooter, Inc., stock certificates for Chemed Corporation certificates.


4.I have the Preferred Securities of the Chemed Capital Trust. Where can I find information about them?
 

The Preferred Securities of the Chemed Capital Trust were redeemed on May 18, 2004, for an aggregate total price of $27.35 per security. If you did not redeem your Preferred Securities at that time, you need contact the redemption agent, Mellon Investor Services, for instructions on how to redeem your securities and receive your payment. 5.How many people does Chemed employ?
 

Chemed and its subsidiaries employ nearly 7,500 people full-time, with an additional 2,250 rounding out the work force. The vast majority of VITAS Healthcare Corporation employees are registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, home health aides, physicians, social workers, clergy, and other caregiving professionals. Most Roto-Rooter employees are service technicians.

13.Does Chemed have direct deposit of dividends?
 

Yes. Holders of Chemed Capital Stock may have their dividends deposited directly into their accounts at the financial institution of their choice. On the payable date, funds will be paid directly into the designated account. Shareholders will receive notification of the deposit from the transfer agent, and the deposit should appear on the account statement issued by the holder's designated financial institution. Yes. The Chemed Automatic Dividend Reinvestment Plan is available to shareholders of record owning a minimum of 25 shares of Chemed Capital Stock. 15.Has Chemed stock ever split?
 

Chemed has had two stock splits in its history. In 2005, Chemed effected a 2-for-1 stock split in the form of a 100% stock dividend paid May 11, 2005, to stockholders of record April 22, 2005. Previously, Chemed’s stock split 2-for-1, also effected in the form of a 100% stock dividend, which was paid on November 10, 1981, to stockholders of record October 15, 1981.


16.When does Chemed's fiscal year end?
 

Chemed operates on a calendar year, with a December 31 year-end.


17.When is Chemed's next earnings release date?
